Before we get to the “How” to find your model and serial number I would like to take a moment to touch on the difference between “OEM” (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts and aftermarket parts. The OEM parts are manufactured to specifications dictated from the manufactures after vigorous testing. They are usually stronger, more dependable and are made to fit in the exact spot your old part came from, which in tight spaces can be imperative. You also need to remember that your equipment serial number and the engine serial number are almost always two different numbers.

Let’s start with Kubota and where to locate the serial numbers. For answers to frequently asked questions, and other helpful information, click here. Below is a chart that is a good start on where to locate the tractor serial number:

Finally, let’s touch on Hustler Turf mowers. Unfortunately, they do not have a handy chart, or a FAQ page to assist us. But hopefully the pictures and information below, can help.

Okay, so now we come to the tricky part! Engine serial numbers can all be different. Remember, your engine may be manufactured by another company other than your mower/tractor. So of course it has its own serial number! Here are some examples and photos to assist you in the process of locating the engine serial number as well.
